Paola Arnesano: voice
Vince Abbracciante: accordion
An artist can be complete when he is cosmopolitan, paraphrasing the “El Siglo de las Luces”. The musician who does not close his perception doors, fully lives his personal sound trip, letting himself be carried away by the involvement and lively impression that different musical landscapes can bring to his inspiration.
Paola Arnesano is always able to build, transform and reinvent herself. Now famous everywhere with her full-bodied and versatile vocality, from jazz to bossa nova, from ethnic music to a project dedicated to the Police and, not surprisingly, winner of the Italian Jazz Awards 2009.
Together with her is the superb accordionist Vince Abbracciante, young, talented and gifted with an extraordinary technique and sensitivity, essential qualities for an instrument that is difficult to approach and impossible to play without passion. Vince creates a romantic interplay, in the literary sense of the term, between intensity and dreamy counterpoints, silences and fully and lively rhythms.
The duo released two albums: “Tango” in 2012 and “MPB” in 2017. In these records the musicians explore musical latitudes that are difficult to interpret and perform such as Argentina and Brazil. From tango milonguero by Carlos Gardel to Astor Piazzolla’s nuevo tango in the first chapter and from Pixinguinha’s choro to Barroso’s samba in the second one. Their music is an emotional swing of dynamics, recitative of stories of passion and sensuality, of suffering and pain, of nostalgia and happiness. Antonio Carlos Jobim said that “sadness and nostalgia have the same dignity as happiness, because they share the same beauty”.
